Dr. Knott has published her novel research findings "Neonatal growth restriction slows cardiomyocyte development and reduces adult heart size" in The Anatomical Record (http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/ar.23851). Her basic science research has advanced our understanding of the long-term effects of perinatal growth restriction on the developing heart. It has set the stage for trials of targeted nutritional and pharmacologic interventions designed to improve the health of at-risk infants. Dr. Knott graduated from the Carver College of Medicine with Research Distinction and will soon embark on her postdoctoral residency. Congratulations Madeline!
