The clinician scientists presented their landmark breast milk equity research during the Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting in Toronto Canada. Other members of the team at the conference included Dr. Akhter and Dr. Roghair (both pictured), and Dr.  Wood (not pictured). 
Dr. Roghair recently received a T35 award from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and a second T35 award from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) to provide stipends for 28 enthusiastic first year medical students engaged in mentored summer research fellowships.
Dr. Kara Whitaker, Assistant Professor, U Iowa
Dr. Whitaker's R01 proposal will receive >$1M through 2028 to examine the associations of maternal sedentary behavior with offspring obesity and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Roghair is proud to collaborate on this important project. Congratulations Dr. Whitaker!
Dr. Trassanee Chatmethakul, Assistant Professor, U Oklahoma
Dr. Trassanee "Pearl" Chatmethakul completed a groundbreaking cross-over clinical trial that demonstrated improved leptin levels after preterm infants are converted from donor breast milk to their mother's own milk. Congratulations Pearl!
